TABLE LAMP
SEVRA
In a lighting shop, I came across a Bert Frank - Colt table lamp, which instantly caught my eye. It's retro-futuristic look and bronzed finished showcased its minimal construction, although intricately assembled.
That discovery sparked the idea for SEVRA, a lamp that feels almost invisible at first glance.

Appear neutral and understated when off.
Transform visually and functionally when on.
No visible fasteners.

OBJECTIVE:
Design a lamp that transforms from nothing into something, while concealing fasteners.
Lighting a path.
A key challenge was creating a body with no visible seams or screws while still allowing for assembly and component access.

Trial and error to precision.

Creating a secondary complementary form was another project in it of itself. As I didn’t just want a support structure; I needed a secondary form that could stand on it's own, not seeming like it's missing something.
Into the real-world.

Rotate

The base charges the lamp through its magnets, allowing for prolonged use while detached.
Remove Sevra from its base to bring to any location.
Portability in mind.
